After the cruise, we had a lunch at a chinese restaurant which was just across the Bell Tower. It does look different during the day!
After that filling lunch, we got back on our tour bus and went on a rather long ride (I think) to Charlie's Wine Estate for some wine tasting session. It was quite fast despite getting to taste 5 different kinds: dry white, semi dry white, dry red, semi dry red and rose. After that, they gave out samples of nougats which were a lot better than the GB brand that people tend to buy at the airports. The Charlie's nougat were really creamy (ie not dry) and rich in taste! They sold tea leaves as well which the guy did not introduce. I recall smelling a Jamaican tea sample of leaves: it was nice: papaya, tea leaves, pineapple and something else...smelt so good.
Then, we went to a macadamia farm called MacNuts. We saw a whole macadamia tree-filled farm, how they processed it and then of course, the macadamia nut shop. Never saw so many flavors of macadamia there. However, they didn't have abalone flavor which I later saw at the airport which I bought back to try. Yum!I bought macadamia spreads to bring back for my mom to sample instead of the same ol nut form. Last May in my trip to Sydney, I managed to bring back about 5 kgs of macadamia nuts. Yes, my mom's nuts about them but I shall refrain this time. Once of that load is enough for a year. This lasted approximately 30 mins. After this short macadamia farm visit, we headed to Caversham Wildlife Park. Of course, here we get to see Australia's well-known animals here such as koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and the tasmanian devil! I've posted a pic of a mother koala and a baby koala, an ACTIVE koala (which was rare- maybe the eucalyptus plant it was eating was spiked?keke), a mother kangaroo and a joey (baby kangaroo- kinda gross as the leg was sticking out..keke), me and the HUGE wallaby and a really mean looking devil rolling around.I think I look sleepier than the wallaby. LOL.
We all were really rolling that day...rolling through the tour! I did want to buy a cute pink tshirt at the souvenir shop at the farm but didn't get to! :the souvenir shop at the park but didn't get to! :( Following that, we were rushed to get back to the bus for our next destination: Margaret River Chocolate Factory. So, all of us piled into the bus and continued to the chocolate factory. Actually, it was just like a warehouse building with a chocolate shop inside (they gave free sampling of dark/white/milk choc buttons! And they sold icecream too but I didn't buy as I know I'd have to hurry through it and get on the bus as the bus driver doesn't allow food on board) and it was so quick till...nobody took any pics. So, I'm gonna attach the link here just for you guys to have an idea: http://www.chocolatefactory.com.au/
You'd think this was the end of the tour for the day. No, we were brought to this souvenir shop for last minute shopping. I'd think that the shopowner had known the tour guides and so they made a pact to bring customers for each other as the things there were rather expensive but it was a good last minute shopping for those who really wanted souvenirs despite any price as it was nearing the end of our 2-day tour! It was called the Freedom Shop and again, I hadn't taken a picture of it myself but I'll update as soon as I get my hands on any, from the rest of the tour group.
We had Indonesian food for dinner which was quite bad actually (somewhere along Georges Street and a few doors away was a strip joint-look-alike place which everybody just walked passed and laughed about it but none of us went in to have a look! haha). I had to go to the nearby convenient store to buy some chocolate milk to fulfil my appetite! The tour guide did offer a trip to the casino after dinner but most of us turned down as we didn't bring formal wear ie. pants/collared shirt and the tour guide told us that we cannot dress sloppily as we will be denied entry. However, some of us who have been there before said it shouldn't be a problem: just no torn jeans and shirt will do. Anyhow, a lot went back to the hotel for a drink and to play cards amongst themselves.
However, I decided to meet up with my highschool friend, Pei- Pei who has been working in Perth for a long time after her studies(ironically, she'll be going back to Kuala Lumpur for good next week haha). Anyway, she came by in her Lancer with Yvonne. Mind you, her Lancer was a 2-door car so ISP ended up taking up the left side- half of the car and Yvonne and I squeezed into the other back seat of the car and Pei- Pei, naturally, driving in the driver's seat. She brought us to Chinatown to join her 2 younger brothers for dinner there. I did not join them eating as the chocolate milk filled me up good but had many good cuppa tea and chatted with them. After that, we went around different spots in the city and taking up some pretty pictures.
Haha. As we took the pics by the bridge, it's one of the bridges seen from Longbridge, a copcar came by. Pei-Pei thought it was stopping to arrest us. Hahaha I was like.good..I need publicity! But to my dismay, it stopped by the bank and started flashing to a boat on the waters as it was playing music real loud. We thought it was from the other side of the waters. We could then see more flashing from across the other side of the bank. There must have been another copcar there. Not long after, the music slowed down (we couldn't hear any music after that) and the cop car left. Dang...I know this weekend, I lost many chances in Malaysia to have publicity... :( I had actually posted the last pic up in MixFM but it didn't come out. Haha, wonder why.....housemates fight also right? Pietro empties my fridge, Ika hogs my telly and Serena C hogs my bathroom....kekeke
